Why Equine Assisted Coaching?
Horses are a super successful prey animal and they are highly social animals who live their best and most natural lives in herds. They are non judgemental and respond to your physiology including your energy and your congruence.
Working with them is a poetic and soul touching experience. They teach us most specifically about: boundaries, using emotion as information, communication (including listening) and mutual respect. The gentle, heart-felt lessons are many and various and you can expect a therapeutic and healing outcome.
The horses are based in Gloucestershire under the care of Dawn Oakley-Smith www.heartshorehorses.com . The horses live as a family group and as naturally as possible. They do not live in stables, they do not wear shoes or coats. Most are not ridden and those who are ridden are usually ridden without metal bits in their mouths. The more naturally the horses live, the clearer is the feedback that they will give us.
You do not need to know anything about horses to work with them. The work takes place from the ground, there’s no riding. The sessions can be from 2 hours at a time.
Working with them is experiential which means the learning you takeaway, will create new neural pathways and if you practise what you have learned, you will change your behaviour.
We plan group work with you so that you have the best chance of achieving the outcomes you are looking for, for the team or group.
Virtual experiences with the herd can be arranged for individuals.
